Alyson Hannigan

Alison Hannigan is a television presenter and American actress. She was born on 24 March 1974. She is best known for her roles as Willow Rosenberg in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003).

As Lily Aldrin in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother (2005-2014), for which she won the People’s Choice Award in 2009 and Michelle Piehearty in the American Pie Film Series (1999-2012). “Since 2016, Hannigan has introduced the television show Penn & Teller: Fool Us. She also features Claire Clancy’s voice in the Disney Junior animated series Fancy Nancy.

 

Early life and education

Hannigan was born in Washington, D.C., to Emily (Poster) Haas, a real estate agent, and Emil Hannigan, the only child of the Teamsters Trucker. His father is of Irish descent and his mother is Jewish. At the age of four, Hannigan began appearing in commercials. She moved to Hollywood at an early age.

Living with his mother and attending North Hollywood High School, he met with his father in Santa Barbara and successfully auditioned for agents. After high school, he studied at California State University, Northridge, where he was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Society and received a degree in psychology.

Hannigan’s first major film role was My Stepmother Is Alien, a science-fiction comedy released in 1988; She had a co-star in the film, Seth Green, who later added her to Baffy’s regular cast as her on-screen boyfriend. Hannigan married on October 11, 2003, with her Bobby Vampire Slayer and Angeles co-star Alexis Denisoff, at the Two Bunch Palms Resort in Desert Hot Springs, California. The couple lives in Ansino, Los Angeles, with their two daughters: Satiana Marie, born in March 2009, and Kiva Jane, born in May 2012.
