Megan Khang – All about the Professional Golfer

Megan Khang, an American professional golfer, was born on October 23, 1997. She is the first person of Hmong and Laotian heritage to compete on the LPGA Tour.

Megan Khang was made for exploration. She rapidly developed a love for all New England had to offer, including snowboarding, fishing, hiking, swimming, going to the beach, and, most significantly, golfing. She grew up in Massachusetts. Her passion for the outdoors was the ideal complement to her fiery personality and gaming prowess.

Megan spent several years competing on the New England leg of the U.S. Challenge Cup Tour after learning the sport at such a young age. She compiled a remarkable CV during her time as an amateur, including low amateur at the 2015 U.S. Open, victory on the Jr. U.S. Solheim Cup Team, and finally a T6 performance at the 2015 LPGA Qualifying Tournament.

In the 1970s, Khang’s parents fled the Vietnam War from Laos and immigrated to the US with their individual families. Khang, who learned the sport from her father, was born in 1997 in Brockton, Massachusetts. At age 14, she met the requirements to compete in the 2012 U.S. Women’s Open.

Khang earned a spot on the LPGA Tour for the 2016 season by placing T-6 in the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament in 2015. Since then, she has kept her card. A T-3 at the 2017 Blue Bay LPGA is her best result to date on the tour. She was selected for the 2019 Solheim Cup team in 2019.
