Scottie Scheffler Early life

Scheffler was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, to Diane and Scott Scheffler. He lived there until he was six years old, when the family relocated to Dallas, Texas, as a result of the September 11 attacks. Scott Scheffler was a stay-at-home father, and Diane Scheffler was the chief operations officer of the law firm Thompson & Knight.

When he was 3 years old, his parents gave him a set of plastic clubs and a ball, sparking his passion in the game. After relocating to Dallas, Randy Smith, a golf coach who led Justin Leonard to victory at The Open Championship in 1997, provided Scheffler with instruction at the Royal Oaks Golf Club.

When he was younger, Scheffler saw great success. He won 75 times on the PGA junior tour while competing against players like fellow Dallas-area native Will Zalatoris.

Scheffler had a small physique and was just 5 feet (1.5 m) tall when he started high school, but he went through a significant growth spurt and soon reached over 6 feet (1.8 m) in height. Scheffler suffered back issues as a result of his rapid growth, especially during his sophomore year. At Highland Park High School in the University Park neighbourhood of Dallas, he participated in basketball and golf. At Highland Park, Scheffler equaled Jordan Spieth’s record by winning the individual state championship three years in a row (2012 to 2014).

Scottie excelled in AJGA competitions as well, taking home the 2013 U.S. Junior Amateur title. In 2014, he was the nation’s top-ranked junior golfer.

From 2014 to 2018, Scheffler was then recruited to play collegiate golf at the University of Texas, where he contributed to the team’s three Big 12 tournament victories and was awarded “Phil Mickelson Freshman of the Year” in 2015. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance in 2018. Additionally, he was a member of the 2017 Walker Cup-winning American squad.

Scottie Scheffler achieved his first U.S. Open qualification in 2016. He started with a first-round 69 but dropped one stroke short of the cut with a second-round 78. Scheffler made it back into the field for the U.S. Open in 2017 by advancing through a 4-for-3 playoff. At the 2017 U.S. Open, he and Cameron Champ were the only two amateurs to make the cut. At 1-under par, Scheffler finished first among amateurs, one stroke ahead of Champ.

Personal life

Meredith Scheffler, is the wife of Scheffler. Scott Scheffler, his father, was born and raised in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, and went to St. Cecilia High School there. Park Ridge, New Jersey, served as his mother Diane’s upbringing. Callie, Molly, and Sara are the names of Scheffler’s three sisters.

Scheffler is a believer. With his caddie Ted Scott, who caddied for Bubba Watson for 15 years, he goes to Bible study. Scheffler asked Scott to be his caddie and Scott agreed “My ideal coworker is a Christian. I strive to conduct my life in that way.” An annual retreat is co-hosted by Scheffler and his close friend Sam Burns with members of the College Golf Fellowship, a religious organisation.
